What exactly is going on in this ring?
Sometimes at ring side I'll hear this question. I'll try to explain it simply.
Here are some terms you need to be familiar with.

Dog refers to male gender only Bitch refers to female gender only B.O.B. is best of breed and this means this is the best representation of that breed in that ring today this can be Champion or non chmapions. [back]B.O.S. best representation of that breed opposite sex of the B.O.B. today in the ring. [back]B.O.W . best of winners best non-champion representation of the breed either male or female [back] |
WD or Winners Dog best non champion dog who can go on to compete in B.O.B. class [back]WB or Winners Bitch best non champion bitch who can go on to compete in B.O.B class [back]Reserve winners dog 2nd best representation of the dog's class [back]Reserve winners bitch is 2nd best representation of the bitch's class [back]B.I.S is Best in Show |

Open Foreign or American One is picked |
Next each winner from above go into the ring to award Winners Dog

Winner Dog is chosen and gets points. They must have a total of 15 with two major shows in order to attain Champion Title |

Reserve Winners Dog is chosen as "runner up" in case winner is disqualified for some reason. |
