If you start training from day one and give loads of praise at the correct times, reinforcing desirable behavior. You will be able to make the dog understand his position in your home.

It is very important that the pup not only to listen to you. Assign tasks from the smallest to the tallest. Mom, Dad, Kids, live-in extended family too! Feeding, taking potty, teaching small tasks, come, stay, down, giving treats, teach them all the correct way to reprimand and praise the dog. It is so very important when you have a large animal in your home to be able to control it and starting early on pups first arrival is the best way.

Constant training by all member of household is important. When your puppy gets in and out of his crate, when he comes after you call him, and when he does his "duty" in the right place, tell him how perfectly wonderful he is. When he's been naughty give a very firm No! Obedience classes are great. For show dogs we have a few alternative commands. Obedience and conformation classes also are great places for your pup to meet new people, dogs and get socialized in a structure environment. These dogs are always learning be sure the dog is learning good lessons.

Dogs want to please the alpha model. We want to establish who alpha model is. Remain consistent and positive and, they'll want to do right by you. They very much want your approval. Dogs, especially puppies, thrive on routine. If you stick to a strict schedule of meals, walks, sleep and play, both you and your dog will know what to expect. Watch the pup closely and you'll know exactly when your dog will to go. Then you'll be prepared to get him outside in plenty of time so keep a leash and coat handy, avoiding those accidents and developing good habits. Remember that puppies run like clockwork, and they usually relieve themselves at specific times.

Socialization is so very important! Let your pup meet people and kids. Take them to the pet stores that allow it parks and playgrounds. Around the neighbors and meet people. Have a treat ready I will many time shake the persons hand before I let them pet my young dog slipping them a treat so on first meeting he can offer it and pup will learn meeting people can be soooo good.

DO NOT TAKE PUP TO SUCH PUBLIC PLACES WHERE MANY ANIMALS ARE BEFORE THEY HAVE HAD ALL THE SHOTS!
