Only Giants with the best health, temperament and structure are bred. They have to be tested by vets and in the show ring to prove themselves worthy of breeding. These are the giants producing our pups. No matter what the "quality" of the pups produced (show, working or pet)they are companions foremost. Our pups live in our home hand raised. ALL our pups are treated the same whether they are pet, show or
working quality. Each is highly socialized very early and handled
very often, each are graded and groomed given all the same high
quality food and attention. All the pups get the same physical
attention, contact, medical attention, care, food, etc.
The conformation ring is the only competition ring that is strictly
meant for show quality dogs. Show Dogs must remain intact while
showing. They can not be spayed or neutered. All giants may compete
in other rings, intact or fixed, whether they are pet quality, show
quality or of working quality. It is more about the training you
have put in with your wonderful dog and activities you want to share
with them.
Sometimes these different quality dogs may be available as young
adults or adults.
All our giants have the option of getting ears cropped. This is a
surgical procedure by a trusted qualified Vet. The ears may be left natural, they may compete with either at this time in the United States. All our giants have Tails Cropped.
Pet quality is a dog that an AKC judge may see a flaw but
anyone else seeing it would say it is a beautiful example of a Giant
Schnauzer. This is because we only breed the best of our giants. These pet giants are not meant for any breeding purposes. For our
breed protection and population control they are to be spayed or
neutered. They could compete as a working dog doing obedience,
agility, utility, rally, fly ball, or other fun activities. They can
even be a therapy dogs if trained. The only thing they can not do
is compete in the conformation ring. The flaw keeping them a pet
may be very small but still a fault. They may just have a level bite
instead of a scissor bite. As breeders we differ in that we want our
pet's owners to keep in contact and call us as often as our show
dog's owners do. Pets are a huge part of any healthy breeding
program and to ignore them would leave a gapping whole in picture.
Working quality most often it is a dog that can be shown in
conformation but shows early aptitudes for the working ring. These
dogs are considered able to attain a Conformation title with proper
socialization, training, grooming and handling so they could be
“show dogs”. These dogs are sometimes neutered / spayed by owners
and that would keep them form the conformation ring. They also may
be left intact to continue the working line. A Giant Schnauzer is a
working breed and should be able to handle working and show ring
competition. PETS MAY COMPETE IN THE WORKING RING.
Borderline Show is a giant schnauzer that does not have
faults, it conforms to the breed standard but not what we personally
as breeders are aiming for. They may compete in any ring show or
working. These dogs as with all show dogs with proper continued
socialization, training, grooming and handling may be champions.
This Quality giant is Great for beginners. Some people ask for these
if they are only toying with the idea of showing a dog. Also some
who want kids to compete in junior handling may want these
prospects. Many people who ask for this quality are ones who are not
sure they will show this giant but would like something that is in
the conformation breed standard and just want a very impressive
looking dog that could have been shown.
Show Quality is a giant schnauzer that we produce and are
proud to represent TripleCrown Kennel in any “show” conformation
ring. Do not have any Faults, They Conform to the breed standard.
These are the dogs we aim for in our breeding program. Giants we
think are right on the money and with proper continued
socialization, training, grooming and handling they will be
champions.
Show Quality Picks are the best quality pups the litter. Like
show quality, these not only conform to the breed standard but go
beyond that. Some litters may have a couple that are of such high
quality that they would both be considered equals. That is really
exciting; we usually try to repeat those breedings hoping for the
same results. Some litters may not have one single pup we would
consider of pick quality. This does not usually happen with us as we
are breeding our best dogs only.
Retired Show dogs are dogs that may have even been the pick
of the litter. These are show dogs that may or may not have ever
been bred. They are being placed purely because we only have a
certain amount of space for dogs in our family home. We may consider
placing this show dog a new home to make room for another prospect
because we keep all our dogs in our home. We live with our giants.
This would be finding a giant a great home where they will be a
star. Also for a child who wishes to compete in junior handling a
retired show dog is sometimes the perfect fit. Basically it can be a
rookie (the junior handler) in with a Pro (retired show dog). Sometimes it can be a dog
we have bred that the owners for some reason may no longer be able
to care for.
We had chosen early on not to breed for volume or high quantities of
dogs. This gives us more time working with our dogs and “giant
family members”. This Pleases greatly many of our giant owners as
much as it pleases us. We believe in breeding best of the show dogs
exhibiting the proper, healthy structure and temperament. We believe
in creating a bond with them early hand raising the pups so they
have a smooth transition from our home to their new home. It takes
much more time, energy, funds for us to breed and raise pups this
way but it is important to us and is why we do thoughtful, careful
quality breedings.
